Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center

Some fun pics of the day at Baby Animal Days!  I never go as I am soooo allergic to almost every animal, but Trav thoroughly enjoys taking the kiddos each year.  This year Sarah our nanny was kind enough to tag along and help Trav with the twins.  With events like these, more hands is ALWAYS a good idea.

My First Hair Cut

Well, I did it.  I finally got the courage to cut my hair for the first time since chemo.  This was almost more nerve racking than shaving my head just over a year ago!  I wanted to keep this hair and I'd worked hard to grow it out to this point 9 months later.  I had my friend Cassie Dekorver do it for me and she was kind enough to help me document this next stepping stone in my cancer recovery process.

Foil Time for Fun Color

Interesting tid bits that I learned from Cassie..... it is always good to wait at least 6 months from your last chemo treatment before coloring hair to insure it is healthy enough.  Also, have your stylist do a test piece of hair for your color.  Hair that grows after chemo may take color differently than expected and will often turn out orange or some other color.  Cassie did a test piece and when it turned out good we went ahead and did the whole thing.  It was crazy to me how much we cut off the bottom of my hair.  Guess it had to go sometime!  I had to get rid of the mullet look and start working on growing it out into a sassy bob!

Easter

Wellsville City has an Easter Egg Hunt every year.  This year we decided to join in on the fun!  I had a blast watching our kiddos this year.  They were finally old enough to participate in events like this. 

Grandma Janet also has a big Easter Party.... the kids made out big time and had a blast searching for eggs and candy.

And I know these are terrible pictures, but they are the only pictures that I was able to get of my twinners in their Easter Sunday Best.  With 1:00 church we are scrambling to take a short nap before leaving, get ready, and head out the door....it takes a toll on the picture taking opportunities.

Hair

Well my hair continues to grow.  I've enjoyed it, but am thinking that it is time to get it cut for the first time since chemo.  It needs a little help as far as shaping and I'm thinking a little bit of color would be fun to give me a change.  The worst part is having only one style right now.  Here's the most recent pics of it.  One day, I'm going to make a "Watch my Hair Grow" video.

To my Amazing Man....

Happy birthday (belated anyway on the blog)!  I'm so proud of you always.  You made it through the toughest part of medic school and I couldn't be happier for you.  You've found a career you love and you are excelling in it.  You are a better husband than I could have ever imagined.  I love you and I love growing older with you.  Happy 31st birthday old man.
